PEN 2017!

Mission Hill School is proud and excited to chair the 2017 Progressive Education Network (PEN) National Conference. The PEN National Conference takes place in a different city every two years and is a diverse gathering of over 1000 participants from around the country.

This year’s theme is: Continuous Lines: Amplify students’ voice, agency, conscience, and intellect to create a more equitable, just, and sustainable world.

Get involved:

The deadline to submit a workshop proposal is Monday, March 6, 2017. Come and share your thoughts and ideas with other conference attendees as a part of your continued growth as an educator, and advocate for progressive education.

If you are locally-based*, you might consider hosting your workshop at a museum, garden, or other special location around Boston such as The Children’s Museum. Your place-based workshop focus could be to teach others about how you use environments around you to enhance student learning.

*The duration for a place-based workshop will be four hours (to take place on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 10:30am-2:30pm), including lunch and transportation time. If you choose a local venue, you will be responsible for contacting the venue of your choice for scheduling and logistical needs. Please contact us at:
